I bought this to replace the equalizer I had for 15 years. I like this one a lot more. The exhaust pipe really reduces the noise level. This knife is smaller than the one he replaced, but it can hit some tuff spots. The movement is smooth and doesn't snag much as long as you lubricate the cut with glass cleaner or water. I've been using it 2-3 times a week since I bought it and it hasn't given me any problems. My old knife would occasionally loosen where the blade was tightening. This always happened when I removed aw/s. The new Astro did not require tightening after initial blade assembly. I cannot fault this knife at all. It's even more comfortable to hold. I'm glad I didn't pay more for the equalizer. This knife is strong.
