I bought a cheaper NIST traceable thermometer that only had 20°C and 100°C calibration points. At -40 degrees, the thermometer was wrong by about 20 degrees. This shows that applying for a NIST certificate does not always prove that a device is a good product. The inaccuracy cost me a lot of time and money because, despite the certificate, I didn't realize that the device was scrap. This device has tested 7 points in its range. This is more than expected and I know it has accuracy over the full range. Also the tenth place is a good feature to determine the temperature trend.
