Review on FASONLA Support Cabinet 65LB 120LB Objects by Justin Rasmussen

I was planning to use two of these to support the lid of the heavy storage box on our new deck. It was a bit difficult to figure out exactly where to place them, although the instructions helped some. However, the main issue was that the lid didn't stay fully closed even after pressing it. I've seen others solve this problem by adding a latch to hold the lid in place, but I didn't want the latch to be visible so I gave up. I was trying to install 67 lb racks on an 80 lb cover. UPDATE: I really needed support to get it working so I experimented again and finally found a happy media where the spacer held the lid open in the up position and stayed down in the down position. After figuring this out, I wish I had some wisdom on how to get this to work, but I don't have any. The legs are 15 inches long axle-to-axle, extended and compressed 9 inches for a maximum travel of 6 inches.
