this had been on my wish list for a long time, and when I saw that it was on sale for a short time, I immediately jumped. I'm glad I did. I've already used it on two hikes so can't comment on durability. The main thing I like about it is its portability, the spring loaded leveling arrow buttons that keep the flag open and the carabiner rings that allow the flag to rotate around the pole. The snap rings are sized to match the diameter of the section so you can fly a flag at half mast as the center clip ring slides over the top section but sits on top of the second section. Haven't tried it yet, but it also seems like you can raise the flag a little over 3 feet since the top clamp attaches to the top of the pole, the middle clamp slides further down, and the bottom clamp slides . below in the second section. Basically, the top clip contains the top flag, the top clip contains the middle clip, and the middle clip contains the second flag. I want to try the 3.5ft x 6.65ft US national flag and I think it will work. (ETA: The top section allows flags to be raised up to 3'8"). I felt no more than moderate winds, maybe 10-15mph, enough to hold the flags. The stick flexes a bit , but looks solid enough.The rings that hold the carabiners rotate around the pole to allow the flags to follow the wind.They don't wrap around the pole like a solid link.The image shows two of my collection of flags that I've started. I look forward to showing color on every hike. (ETA: The spring buttons can pop out in the sections below and get stuck where you can't push them. To avoid this, I twist the top one Section rotates 180° after being released to prevent the button from returning to the hole when compressed.)
