It may seem an unusual use of the product but I used it to protect outdoor water pipes from freezing! I used a bulb on a clamp lamp attached to an external faucet (with a trash can mounted above) but the bulbs burned out too quickly! The old trick keeps the water pipes from freezing! I researched this product and several ceramic incandescent bulbs and found that they put out the same amount of heat as a 50 watt incandescent bulb but lasted much longer! So I bought this product and some ceramic light bulbs and was very happy with the results!
