Energy Efficient DIY Project!

Our bedroom gets a lot of direct sunlight from the rest of our house. We're tired of waking up on weekends feeling overheated and waking up reluctantly to the amount of light pouring into our room at 7am. Our bedroom has 4 windows for your reference. First, let me explain the installation process and what we learned from this experience. Two people are needed to coordinate this application.2. Make sure your windows are clean. Make sure you wipe them down with a material that won't leave dust or pet hair residue.3. Trim excess sealant around the window/glass frame to ensure a tight seal around the edges.4. Measure your window glass, unroll the film on a flat, dust-free surface and trim, leaving about a 1-inch margin. Use a slightly soapy water mixture and thoroughly wet the window pane before applying. Use towels on the floor.6. Remove the clear plastic film from the film using masking tape on opposite sides of the film to aid in removing the layer. Do it in sync. For example, my husband held it while I slowly removed the plastic wrap.7. Remove the protective film about halfway, spray the film on the sticky side (the side where the protective film was) and place it on the window glass.8. Adjust placement before removing the rest of the liner. Wet window and wet film allow the film to slide. This is also important to remove bubbles. Make sure it's HUMID.9. Once in place, slowly peel off the rest of the liner and spray before allowing it to stick to the window.10. Once on the window, spray the film again. Use a squeegee to squeeze out air bubbles and achieve a snug fit. If your squeegee slides over dry film it can damage the film. Make sure the foil is wet on the side you are peeling off.11. Do not start cutting off the excess until the film is fully bonded and free of bubbles. Use a straight object along with a utility knife to make a narrow cut along the line where the windowpane meets the glass.12. Wipe again with a squeegee to ensure the cut edges are even and firm. Dry everything once you're done. We need two rolls to make our bedroom. Our windows are each about 5.5 feet high. With a little oversize, 2 windows could easily be made from one roll. What you need to know about the product: 1. The product comes with a shaving box and a squeegee. It's in a film tube and we didn't find it until we opened it.2. This is not a magic mirror. It works just like the interrogation room. It reflects from the side facing the light, and yes, it looks like a mirror. This makes it look like a mirror from the outside during the day. At night the effect is reversed.3. People can't see you outside during the day. At night they can look into your house. So please don't think that you do NOT need blinds or curtains at night.4. This reduces sunlight and heat. Our bedroom is MUCH cooler. The product reflects light, so after application there is a noticeable difference in the ambient temperature in the room. It reduces yellow light to more "cloudy daylight".5. It's energy efficient, and by following the instructions above, you can implement a DIY energy efficiency project in your home at a fraction of the cost of hiring a professional. Over time, we plan to buy more for other solar windows in our home. . For reference, we live in Florida. We know how important it is to lower the temperature in your home, save on energy bills and live comfortably.
