Review on 🎧 AMVR Head Back Padding Cushion for Oculus Quest 2 Headset (Black) - Enhanced Comfort, Gravity Pressure Balance, Soft TPU Pad Accessory by Richard Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I don't have to change my stock headband anymore

tl;dr (Don't like wading through the story to get to a recipe?) Buy it now. It's hard to describe the difference in comfort, stability and ease of use from the standard harness. I finally settled on the new VR Balance V2 based on the idea of weight over grip and how it works with a standard harness. Since it wasn't supposed to be available immediately, I decided to use a "Pads" 3D print head to skip the "Kickstarter downtime". During this "kst" I came across a video of UTR quest accessories (I'll trademark that silly looking term here). This led me to the NIVRANA battery (note the spelling). to the AMVR headband video review. It got me excited. The vlogger's initial skepticism, followed by his enthusiastic approval, prompted me to put my money into AMVR immediately. Although I made my homemade print out of PLA, it was just a matter of affordability and practicality. I wanted to have an upgraded strap available when my OQ2 arrived until I decided to replace it. I always felt that it would be better if this were done with TPU, but that option was not available to me in the timeframe required. If you want, imagine what it's like to put on a pair of flexible driving gloves after you've taken off the rawhide work gloves you've been wearing all day. The person who kindly printed the cap for me suggested putting a thin liner on the inside and I really should have listened. I didn't realize how uncomfortable it really was (although for me it's still better than just a standard strap) until I replaced it with an AMVR solution. First off, it's significantly larger, which combined with the flexibility, results in a more user-friendly environment. The strap ends higher on the back of the head, but the greater "reach" of the AMVR pad compensates for this nicely. This higher position also raises the strap's "arms" slightly above the ears for those sensitive to such things, and I swear to the dog that due to the headset's changed "hanging" my glasses sit just different enough to make things look sharper. <--- this is completely anecdotal and I don't care if it doesn't make sense, I tend to. With the VRCover facial interface, I can foresee the potential for a truly epic time spent 'inside'. I think I put an end to the strap changing problems. I'm so excited.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance
