These 90 degree 2.1mm BARREL connectors use the clamshell body method. These shells are held closed by a small rubber grommet (included) that fits over the wired end of the case. I recommend using 1/2" heat shrink tubing to more permanently close these shells: don't overheat the plastic in the process. By the way: If necessary, you can easily replace the 5.5 mm plug with a longer plug. .
