out of 6 tested here at work, two couldn't route the ethernet signal to several different 2017 MacBook Pros with Sierra and High Sierra. One of them also gave an error message saying "Unplug the USB device because it's using too much power" - even with nothing plugged into the USB A port, nothing plugged into the other USB C port on a Mac and it had the same error whether the USB-C power cable was plugged into an adapter or another USB-C port. Others from the same brand worked, as did one of StarTechcom's older USB-C to DVI adapters.
