It actually took a few hours to assemble the system as I had to navigate the garbage chute to attach it. The assembly process itself is not very complicated as most of the parts do not require any additional tools. For example, the hose has quick release buckles that snap in place like a shark bite. I had to drill a hole in the drain pipe for the drain fitting. I already had a faucet hole. The kit includes spares and small parts should you need anything in the retrofit. I actually had an extra 1/4" pex that I used with a tee to run to my fridge. So far it's running smooth and I haven't had a glass of water yet, but I'm happy when I do by come home from work.I actually had another system from another company that had an ASO failure that cost me $150 in water bills. When installing I found that it was not possible to get the tank under the sink to install. (I have a small sink and a massive waste chute on one side.) I ended up using the reservoir from the old system as it had the same fittings and was much smaller. It had the same features, just less. The So in the end it was me. When I bought my first reverse osmosis system a few years ago I didn't do much research. I'm glad I switched to Ispring. The old system had several weaknesses that were simply unnecessary.
