I bought this carpet sweeper specifically to sweep the floor of our 4-person tent which has a very thin indoor-outdoor carpet inside covering the whole 8x8 footprint. I wanted something that I could easily assemble and disassemble to carry with the camping gear. Well, this is surprisingly nice. I put it together and tried it out on several of my home area rugs and it really picked up dirt and dog hair (and I do vacuum regularly.) Yes, the sweeper base is plastic, but appears sturdy. Yes the metal handle which comes in three pieces is not super thick and the hand grip can come loose after a bit of use but is easy to twist back on. It was easy to empty. I don't know how it would hold up to heavy use over time, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but for something lightweight for infrequent use in a tent at a reasonable price, this is perfect.
