Mercury outboards are easy replacements and very fuel consuming. Some kind of dirt will cause a problem. Try not to use ethanol based fuel unless you are using it for marine applications. IE Valvetec or any other processing. It's hard to find ethanol here in Connecticut. I found 95 octane race gas for $14 a gallon. Tractor Supply or other lawn mower repair shops sell mixed gas for $18 a half gallon. Keep the fuel system clean and there will be no problems.
