Good Budget Grips for my opinion

Summary: - These grips feel very similar to Golf Pride New Decade Grips - They cost less than half as much as Golf Pride New Decade Grips - Installation was the same as any other grip I've ever installed (not harder or easier) - Too early to determine long term qualityIf you're anything like me, you have a hard time paying 130$ or more for golf grips. This usually means that I'm relegated to a lower end grip. I decided to give these grips a shot when I needed to replace a few grips in my bag. I was hesitant based on some feedback a friend of mine had given me about them being difficult to install, but the cost savings made me willing to give it a shot. The package arrived quickly as usual with Walmart. Grips were all together in a bag with the grip tape, solvent, spray top for the solvent, grip cutting knife and instructions. I did not use the included knife as I already had a utility knife set up with a carpet blade. I used a small vise that I have used in the past mounted to a table to hold the club in place. Other than that, I used only what was provided with the grip kit I got and successfully installed the grips.Installation was straightforward and the same as other grip installations I have done in the past. (See video) Like other grips with paint/ink on them, when the solvent gets on those areas, the color will bleed a bit. This is not a comment on quality as all grips I've ever used react the same way. The grip tape that was included is a sort of clear-ish plastic tape. More than adequate to keep the grips from twisting on the clubs, but I don't know how difficult it will be to remove when I need to re-grip. Only time will tell.In a side by side comparison of to Golf Pride New Decade grips that were on 3 of my clubs, the Sapalize grips are very similar. I have not gotten out to hit them yet, but I don't know that blindly I'd be able to tell the difference. Visually, they are very similar as well. (See photo) Colors are a few shades different and the pattern is slightly different, but you can see where Sapalize got their inspiration from.Overall, I would not hesitate to buy these again at this point. I will update this review should anything change with how they perform on the course.

Pros
  • Great quality for the price point
Cons
  • The grips may not be very responsive to changes in grip pressure, leading to inconsistent swings
