We purchased Manna Pro Chick Grit with Probiotics 5lbs for our new chicks. Chicken starter medicine. Chickens don't need sand if they only eat chick food, but if you give them something else along with the food, chicks need sand. We love having chickens, we have 7. Put an incubator at home, we left ours in the house so they can be comfortable with us. Build a chicken coop so when they are old enough you can take them on day trips there to keep them comfortable.
