This music box is a little different than any I have ever seen. The Nutcracker and ballerina dancers are separate pieces that you place on the little mirror "lake". When you wind the key for the music to play the dancers spin and twirl around the lake. My grandkids were delighted the first time they saw it! The detail is very nice on this box and is just a nice small item you can tuck into anywhere you need to add a little Christmas magic. Everyone loves to watch the dancers spin around the lake. The description states it plays a holiday tune which I believe is random as with some of the others sold by this seller but I think anything other than "the Nutcracker Suite" would be really disappointing. If you know someone who loves music boxes, this one would certainly not disappoint. It is beautiful.
