I've been racing for 10 years and I've never owned a chain whip! Despite the snap ring being absurdly tight, this tool held the cluster with ease while I loosened the snap ring with a Park FR 5.2 freehub tool. I expect to use the chain whip 2-3 times a year. If I were doing it regularly, I would consider something more permanent.
