Sometimes the built-in network cards of older PCs fail and you lose your Ethernet connectivity. This guy is perfect for diagnosing a network card error or a loss of connection on an RJ45 port (although there are certainly more advanced tools for such purposes). I carry it with me in my tool bag, but it's small enough to fit in my pocket.
