This item was purchased to replace a very slow or non-moving original awning motor. It works, but it seems very, very slow. The awning is difficult to open and close. The 12V DC motor should handle this with no problem. I don't know why anyone doesn't just make one with a little more power. Less stress would probably help the build last a lot longer. Before going there I made sure all the connections were clean and tight. Also make sure that all pivot points are well lubricated. I'm still fighting and very slowly.
