Gaiters can be a problem if they are too loose or too tight. You don't want them to cut off circulation and you don't want them to slip or fall out. These appear to be correct. They're thin enough to fit under pants but have enough insulation to keep you warm. They were bought to help a post-operative patient who had a rod inserted into his leg because his leg was really sore from the cold. This helps with that and also provides just another layer of insulation against sub-zero weather. I will be buying another pair to keep in my backpack in case the weather changes and I need them for the day after leaving.
