Review on Moen GXP50C Prep Series PRO 0.5 πŸ—‘οΈ HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal with Power Cord by Peter Nobles

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The already existing flange on cast iron is used, ceramic glazed sink.

Everything seems fine! We have just completed the installation using an existing flange. We have a ceramic glaze in our kitchen, an iron sink, so the drain hole is about 1.5 inches deep. I misinterpreted "sink size" on the datasheet to mean the depth of the sink, so of course the flange that came with Moen was too short. Having just sent another unit back to Revain because its flange was also too short, I was embarrassed to have to return another one! Luckily the old flange fits the new Moen. Sorry Moen, the flange says "In-Sink-Erator" instead of "Moen"! Another oddity: the instructions (step #13) imply that there is a union nut at the end of the drain elbow. The illustration shows a pipe wrench connecting a union nut to a U-connector. The U siphon is threaded, but Moen does not include a union nut and it is not clear how the union nut can prevent it from slipping off the smooth straight drain elbow. QTim Allen. We used duct tape and some caulk as a temporary solution until we got something like the "MySimpleDrain" solution. We are delighted that the kitchen sink is back in business. Yes we would buy this brand again (now that we know better!) Edit: Oh! I just need a sliding washer and nut combo to get the job done. . .
