Review on Optimized for SEO: Sony ICD-SX25 Digital Voice Recorder by Dave Calabro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good features but: Portable Audio and Video

I bought this voice recorder to record college lectures and then convert them to text. The SX25 has a pretty good record time for the low quality setting, around 12 hours. Some of the features are: VOR - a thing where the recorder supposedly starts recording when it's recording sound and stops when it stops recording sound (I almost never managed to get it to work), the Possibility to cut and split recordings, four different quality settings and a very informative LCD screen. SX25 is also supported for Dragon, of course preferred. The set includes headphones, a USB cable, a program for saving records and a carrying case. It seems you can get a decent voice recording for well over a hundred bucks. In my experience, the actual recording is the worst part of this product and, ironically, its primary function. After taking it to a class at the second-best level, ten feet from the teacher, I brought it home and couldn't hear anything at maximum volume. Also, I couldn't use it to transcribe text. The general description of the product led me to believe that it can shoot from a considerable distance. It would most likely be better to use it just for personal voice recording for notes rather than as a long distance voice recorder as the microphone is extremely weak.
