The cap grip is great, really holds the edge of the cap without leaving marks and is wide so there is no edge tension in a small spot. Prevents the tent from swinging in strong winds. My issue, as mentioned in another post, is the length of the straps. Luckily I had a 1" wide, 8" long Velcro strap that I attached to a strap so it was long enough for the job. After a few days, my almost new awning snapped back to its original shape, allowing me to remove the added velcro and just use the straps I had. The straps should be 4 inches longer and I think everyone will give this product 5 stars.
