Let me start by saying that I'm an engineer so I like to make things complicated but I'm also very picky about products. If it doesn't work, it returns. Over the years I've probably gone through three or four breeding animal finders. It started with magnetic ones in the 90's and they were good for the time, but the problem with magnetic rod finders, which basically locate the drywall screw, is that you rely on the drywall hanger to find the center of the rod. This isn't the best person to rely on as drywall hanging is all about speed. I think what sets this nail finder apart from the huge array of LEDs is that you can try to trick the machine however you want, either up or down. to confirm that it is indeed a vertical pin or side by side and it will always repeat its results. Good product!
