Review on πŸš— Durable Surco TD100 Tire Carrier for Dodge: Secure and Convenient by Roel Lebron

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fit is decent but hasn't held up for the last 2 years and a few thousand miles.

Installation was easy although two holes had to be drilled in the left rear door panel. (This was installed in a double hatchback van). The fit wasn't very good. I put a full size spare from a '91 Dodge B350 on the trunk. It fit there, but the big hoop limited the door to about 90 degrees. The tire also interfered with the other door swinging past the tire, forcing me to shakily close the doors and close the doors together to allow the right-hand door to go past the tire. In the long run, the tire carrier has failed. It just wasn't up to the task of driving this big tire for 2 years and maybe a few thousand miles. The top tube to the right of the center crossbar is split in half. When I picked up the door stay I also found that it was starting to punch through the door skin on the right hand side where two holes had to be drilled. I would not recommend using this product. Finding a spot in the tire truck or perhaps on a roof rack is probably best.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
