Review on Ramp Kit with Hardware - KEEPER 05674 by Robert Layne

Much better than buying a metal ramp!

I recently got a small self propelled mower that I wanted to store in the barn. However, the canopy is about 10 inches off the ground. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of spending $125+ on some of the narrow metal ramps. , and at a great price. I joined them together using 2 x 12 x 4 foot boards I found in a pile of scrap lumber (a huge discount over buying solid boards) at the "orange and white" hardware store (one board was actually a few inches longer than 4 Foot so I have very strong ramps now that are much wider than the metal options and my total cost is around $25 Note the description says it's aluminum but they are actually steel .So they are a little heavier than some of the other options. However my boards are 2 x 12 x 4ft and are easy to insert, place and lift after use so the extra weight shouldn't be a problem.Because they are steel, I think they are probably a lot stronger than the more expensive aluminum options I paired them with 2x12 boards rather than 2x6, 2x8 or 2x10 so it was a lot easier to level the mower, without worrying about slipping off a narrower ramp. I am very happy with these mounts and my new ramps.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive
