First I appreciate the sharp edge it comes with as well as the cost. Second, I bought it last October. On arrival I tested it on a pine tree, made protective packaging for it and put it away until I had a project to use it on. It was three days ago. Unfortunately, near the 3rd chip, the base in the blade burst. Luckily I had a carving glove on my left hand so the blade didn't cut me when my hand collided with the work. I also bought a larger version of the same design so I carefully tried to remove the bowl with it. . Happy to report that everything worked perfectly. To delve deeper into the bowl, I switched to the narrower arrow. Beavercraft offers excellent value for money. It must have been an accident, as the enlarged version worked beautifully. I suggest wearing a carving glove as this incident will most likely cause some damage.
