Review on πŸ’§ Efficient and Stylish Avalon A1CTWTRCLRBLK Water Dispenser in Black by Mike Kies

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Terrible product. See below. *Updated 2019*

Originally bought for about eighty dollars. It worked very well for about 28 days of use. On the 29th day, I woke up with water dripping on the floor. I looked around the corner and noticed where the leak was coming from. It was through the grill openings and I haven't tried taking it apart to see if it can be fixed. Appealed to Revain, got replacement block. Sent the old one back. After the replacement, it worked fine again for about 4 months. This morning I woke up to the ground being completely filled with water again. I took out the 3 gallon jug and cleaned out the mess, when I tilted the unit slightly to drain the water into my sink, the whole unit poured water out of the tank. It's a slight incline of about 10 degrees. I have no idea what these tanks are made of, but whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be durable. I will contact the manufacturer to see if they offer a warranty on the device. At that point, I should have spent my money buying bottled water instead of trying to save a few bucks by refilling my water at a local gas station. I don't have $80 and I have information if support will fix this piece of junk. Stay away from this brand. Updated after contacting support. *** Update 6/28/2019 I'm updating this review because I wanted to provide feedback on this issue. I contacted support and got in touch with Jill R. @ Avalon. She was very helpful and tried to solve. We went through troubleshooting, a typical top ring reinstall, center post reinstall, and used a brand new 3 gallon bottle. Doesn't matter. A YouTube video from Avalon also shows that some devices have a silicone seal. This product doesn't have it. The top seal is controlled by 4 pivoting clamps. I believe the problem is that when loading 3/5 gallon bottles, the seal breaks loose over time. I'm not sure if it's a technical issue, but as gravity pulls the water down these 4 swivel clamps will eventually loosen and loosen. Since there is no rubber or silicone seal and you are 1/3 close to a water bottle, gravity wins over the o-ring gaps. In any case, my customer experience has been fantastic. I have already replaced two of these units through Revain Customer Service. Avalon Support has replaced this as well. 5 stars for Avalon's customer service. 3 stars for the product. Not 100% sure this new device will work without leaks. But I have a 2x3 square wooden floor. foot, which is largely destroyed. This is not the fault of the water bottle and I cannot fault the product. This may be a fault, it may be due to the top o-ring loosening and loosening over time when serving 3/5 gallon bottles. I strongly recommend contacting customer service. They did the right thing and were very professional. Also, they speak English and support their product. . Jill R suggested a replacement for the Avalon A6 bottom loading unit. I had to pay for the return shipping of a new replacement device that was sent to me. It was a fair compromise as they paid for the final return shipping in exchange for a new bottom loading unit. 5 stars for customer service. 3 stars for top loading product. Aside from the top seal and leak block, I found the hot/cold function to work very well. I just don't know if I'll ever risk a top loader again. If you have a tile floor kitchen I would recommend it as floor fed units are much more expensive. Can't comment on the durability of the device but I hope this bottom loading device will last at least a couple of years. My neighbors have Primo and Whirlpool units that have lasted almost a decade. I will update them once I get the new Avalon A6.
