I have been in aquarium maintenance and business since 2006. I have used and maintained Hagen (Fluval) products for a long time. good suggestion for the part and amazon will send OEM replacement part exactly. But why it doesn't get a 5 out of 5 is that the impeller cover for the 304/305 and 404/405 series filters has a "design flaw" and often breaks the mounting tabs. Either by itself or when you try to remove it to clean the impeller and impeller shaft. I have over 40 Fluval filters in my customers' tanks and have been using them for 15 years, even up to 303/. 403 series. The filter system is great otherwise I wouldn't use them. I service each of my clients' filters once a month. I change this part on average every 6 months. This is the only part I change regularly. Most other parts of these filters rarely need to be replaced unless a major service has been performed or the filter has been in use for a very long time. Replacing this impeller cover is much cheaper than replacing the impeller or impeller shaft which can be damaged by running this filter with a cracked impeller cover. If you have one of these filters, I always try to carry a spare with me. On the newer Fluval 306/406 models this impeller cover has been replaced with a new design and having run some of these models for a number of years I have not had any such problems with the impeller cover breaking. So it seems like they've fixed the design flaw, but it's probably not a good idea to update to a new version of the filter if you have one that still works. Since the cost of buying this a few times a year is not so high.
