It is small and almost noiseless. When I turned it on there was none of the clicks that such heaters usually make when the oil heats up. But he warmed up and clicked from time to time. I had a room thermometer and after a few hours the temperature in the room hadn't changed. I don't blame the heating. Putting my hand on the heater made me warm, so I know he was trying. I was hoping to use a small 20cm x 10cm space heater. I'll leave it on anyway and see how it performs in my bedroom after replacing it. Update: I use it for my work place. This works well for a small area. I have it under my desk/table. My thermometer says it's increasing the temperature for 10 minutes and rising steadily, and it's on a medium setting. No need to turn the knob all the way up unless you really want to get warm.
