requires a higher power rating along with the Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports that this product has. I also wanted to have a 5GB capability, which the TEW 653 didn't offer. Here's the performance output for those who want details. Transmission.802.11a: FCC/CE: 17 dBm/-75 dBm (typ.) at 54 Mbps 802.11b: FCC/CE: 20 dBm/-90 dBm (typ.) at 11 Mbps 802.11g: FCC /CE: 17 dBm /s -76 dBm (typ.) at 54 Mbps 802.11n: FCC/CE: 17 dBm/-69 dBm (typ.) at 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz802.11n : FCC/CE: 18dBm/-70dBm (typ.) at 300Mbps 5GHz. Wi-Fi standards: IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab, IEEE 802.3af/az. This device is much faster and more powerful than other Trendnet access points, but costs about twice as much. .Modes: AP, Repeater, WDS AP and WDS BridgeUp to 8 SSIDs per band: 16 totalSpecial Features:Supports VLANSNMP v1-3 tagsTraffic ShapingLEDsDisable Low Profile Discreet HousingIPv6AP Ready mode helps streamline wireless network setupsSimultaneous Dual -Band 300Mbps NC WirelessCreate up to 8 SSID per band Define AP, WDS-AP, WDS-Bridge or Repeater modes No need to install the device near a power source, with PoE setup Traffic shaping- Control for each SSID Slim, pure white housing that blends in with the environment Supports IPv6 .
