This zero start cylinder block heater 3100109 worked great the first winter after installation but I will have a second winter where it will not work. I have a sensor reader that plugs into the OBD II connector and this morning my engine coolant temperature was 10 degrees with an outside temperature of 5 degrees. My other car was 79 degrees with a heater already installed, which it isn't. I replaced the alternator 2 weeks ago, to check I unplugged the coil, everything looked fine, added some dielectric grease and reconnected. No luck because it still doesn't work. I am considering replacing the cable if I can find it. You'll have to remove the alternator again, but at least it's not as much work as the first time.
