I gave it 4 stars because although they don't have a buckle, trying to fit the strap into a small slot takes a lot of effort unless your hands and Fingers are flexible enough, and as with any shoe that you need to buckle or tie, you generally have to bend down, and if you're overweight it's quite a difficult task. I couldn't, so my farsighted dance partner tried to strap them on in a dimly lit room and I helped with the flashlight and he even struggled to get the strap into the slot. My suggestion to the manufacturer: make the buckle and slot slightly larger to make it easier. Apart from the fact that I had a hard time getting dressed, they survived the dance evening just fine. The felt bottom makes turning or twirling that much easier and they were sooooo comfy! And for the price, they're a good buy. I would buy another pair but by then hopefully the buckle will be lighter.
