After 30 years of bird feeding in the same house we finally got thrushes this winter. I wasn't expecting them as we are in a wooded area and the bluebirds prefer more open areas but they were - three of them were working on tallow feeders and eating shelled sunflower seeds. We didn't need any more stimulation and we quickly got a mealworm feeder and these mealworms. Since then, their number has grown to about 10 bluebirds. At an elementary school down the street, a teacher complained to me that she only had one blue bird in her bowl, so I gave her class a bowl and a bag of these wonderful mealworms. Half our time later she emailed me to say they had several bluebirds in a bird feeder outside of their class and the kids loved it. Get those mealworms! They bring not only thrushes, but also titmice, titmice and woodpeckers. Too bad I didn't offer them years ago! I'm updating my review and while that's finicky enough not to remove a star, I really wish they came packaged in a bag that was easier to close. In fact, I've never had a resealable bag, and none of my friends or relatives had one. If you buy them, make sure you have a container with a lid big enough to fit the bag in - dried mealworms are slippery as hell, and if you knock over a gaping bag, the mealworms will be all over the place.
