I bought this tripod to replace an exceptionally old pan/tilt tripod I bought almost 20 years ago. I wanted something that could support the weight of my camera (Nikon D850) and lenses (not telephoto, only wide). It seemed to fit the bill and it was reasonably priced. The legs are sturdy and well made, fold easily and lock well. It is very compact to store and much lighter than my old tripod. But the ball head moves down a few degrees (and often at an angle) after you tighten the screws and take your hand off the camera. I understand that the D850 is a heavy camera, but its weight matches the stated weight of the tripod. I mostly just shoot landscapes, so being able to fix the camera's position and not worrying about camera movement is crucial for me. I played with it for a few days to see if I could get it working but ended up sending it back for a refund. If you have a smaller mirrorless or DSLR, you'll probably be fine.
