I really don't know where the bad reviews are coming from. Maybe people think they can spend $150 and get a cinema quality surround sound system? Not sure, but if you're looking for a quality system just to upgrade your TV's built-in speakers, then this is it! I've had both Sony and Bose soundbars in the past, specifically the Bose 5 and Klipsch which I think are much better. As long as you use it with surround setup and dialogue setup at the same time, you shouldn't be satisfied. I bought it with a lot of hesitation due to bad reviews but for the money I decided to take a chance. I am very happy with the purchase. It looks great and sounds great. No unwanted noise as mentioned in other reviews. I just hooked mine up to the TV with an optical cable and I'm still using the TV's speakers. Dialuge is a million times better and definitely has more bass. Will this speaker blow your mind? No, and it wasn't designed for that. Does this speaker upgrade your TV speakers for clearer, more precise and brighter sound? Yes.
