Very easy to install. My 2 year old understands EVERYTHING. We had to drop the standard baby gate because he either 1) climbed over it, 2) knocked it out of the walls, or 3) broke the arm straining the wall. He is a master of escape and constantly tries to leave the house. No door locks are good so my next try was something that would prevent him from getting to the doors. We've had it for a week or two and he still hasn't figured out how to unlock it. He also didn't try to climb over it (shocking) and couldn't remove it (yet). We purchased a 41 inch high Regalo baby gate for the other entrance to our living room and he was able to open the door within 20 minutes of installation. So this is the one and works very well for even the busiest and most imaginative toddlers!
