It took me a while to get used to which way the barrel was rotating. I’d think it was clockwise but I would accidentally (without meaning to) jolt it counterclockwise. Hang in there though because I love it now. I have really thick hair and a curling iron or flattening iron take forever. This is much faster and my hair looks great. I only put it at level 2 heat ( out of four) as I think higher was burning my hair. Also I put a dot of nail polish on the barrel tip so I could see at a glance which way the barrel was turning. Suggestion for the company.make it a toggle switch or something to change the barrel direction. Sometimes if you’re hand just lets up on the pressure of holding it the barrel direction changes which of course makes a mess of your styling attempts.
