Installs 9 in my 2012 Silverado bed. The sentence is good. I got a spray in the fairing and the installer didn't remove the plastic plugs in 5 places. Not the biggest, but light enough to get through with a sharp utility knife and a plate peeler. Just make sure you don't remove too much backing material. Multiple base plates, it was difficult to screw in the screw by hand and I had to use a wrench. A quick tapped zip would have been preferable, but the bolt managed to snag on its own threads. Uncomfortable to lay in bed. The best tool is a 1/2" ratchet box wrench. A regular box or wrench will do, but it takes a long time to tighten the screw. And rotating and locking the baseplate with the locking lugs on the bracket required some attention, since the Threads were a bit tight.This could have been avoided by quickly tapping the threads with a tap or turning the screw all the way down and back before installing.I have not tested its durability as I have just installed it. The ad read, "Rated 1000# when I bought it, but I highly doubt that claim as they're only mounted on 16 gauge sheet metal.
