I thought all foam brushes were the same. Not so. The plastic pad under the foam rubber of these brushes is very flimsy. It's hard to explain, but part of the brush bent almost 90 degrees when I applied the finish. So I didn't comb it so much, but smeared and smeared it. I used these brushes to apply oil based polyurethane and the foam started breaking after about 5 minutes of work leaving pieces of foam on my project. Luckily I was working on the bottom of the project when this happened. It was also fortunate that I had other brushes to switch to. I would recommend Jen Manufacturing Inc. polyfoam brush. About $5 more but I didn't experience the disappointment I experienced with these US Art Supply.
