Review on Airxcel 81 0980 Manual Bluetooth Ready by Jason Winkfield

UPDATE - After a couple of trips and really hot weather I'm still very happy with this unit. I can still move the thermostat outside of the case, but it works pretty well with it in place. My only (minor) complaint is that it takes longer than I think to turn the AC back on, so it gets a little warmer than I'd like just before turning it on. It doesn't matter much. As several people have reported, it occasionally loses the Bluetooth connection, but I've found that simply restarting the phone fixes that. Nothing fancy in exchange for the convenience of being able to control the AC from my phone! Initial Review - I was looking to add a controller and wall thermostat to my RV service center, but after waiting months for parts I canceled the order and received it from Revain a few days later. Due to work I had very little time each day to work on it but over the course of 3 days I probably put in a total of 3 hours. I did most of the work myself (60+F) but I needed help with the backlight to lift the controller box inwards and also hold the inner cover while I made the final connections and tightened the screws. You could probably do it yourself if you had to. Nothing complicated, just search YouTube and watch all the videos as each will show you a few different angles and situations (e.g. what to do if your main cable is too short). Plugged straight into my phone and works great so far away. It's not very hot yet so I'm not sure if I need to move the thermostat sensor or not. I installed it as shown in the picture and will see if I need to move it or not. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the freeze sensor was missing from the packaging. I contacted Revain as suggested and they had no idea what I was talking about so I contacted the manufacturer who informed me straight away. Great service, but I think this can be a big problem for those who are new to RV AC units, especially since there are no illustrations of the parts in the box (just a list) in the manual, the diagrams in the instructions are quite there. much useless.
