I bought a Petsafe vibrating collar for my 9 month old Labrador puppy. She loves attention and when no one is paying attention to her, she starts barking. We used it too because when she went to her cage to rest she would bark for a while trying to get someone to let her out. But as she got older, the vibrating collar wasn't strong enough. She just kept barking because the correction wasn't working for her anymore. Also, paying around $7 for replacement batteries was ridiculous. The Petsafe Large Dog Rechargeable Anti-Bark Collar seems to be working so far. We only put it on when she gets hyper and wants to play rough. You have to make sure that the collar fits the dog snugly enough, otherwise he won't feel the correction. The instructions say it should be snug enough to fit your finger between the collar and your neck. Believe me, when a correction comes, she feels it. Once she finds this initial solution, her barking will turn into a whimper, and then she will MOSTLY stop after a few minutes. It seems to calm her down more than anything else. when he's on her she knows not to bark when he's on her. I didn't mind the whole stun collar thing at first, but after seeing how it helped our dog bark, I find it humane enough for the few times we actually use the collar Rechargeable, no need to buy spare batteries anymore.
