BUYERS BEWARE, HIGH TEMPERATURES GIVE OUT TOXIC FUMES

They looked fine after the first few uses in the 350 oven. They washed well too, but then I noticed a strange white powdery coating on them after drying. I thought it might just be suds so I rinsed them again but the white residue showed up again. After soaking them and washing them a few times, the sediment finally disappeared. And last night my son decided to bake chicken nuggets in the 425 oven. Suddenly I felt very restless and couldn't breathe like all the air had been sucked out of the house but no visible "smoke" just a weird chemical smell in the air. He threw the rug he was using in the water and we had to open the windows and air the house when it was 20 degrees outside! After doing some research on silicone mats and trying to figure out what they are, I found out that some cheaper manufacturers add fillers that can smoke at high temperatures. All silicone is great but the fillers made a nasty mat. It's definitely a cheaper version. I'm frustrated because I bought a few as Christmas gifts and now I have to tell whoever I gave them to that they suck. Attention buyers. I would also be concerned about the owners of the birds.
