I love this item! It could even filter very fine soil. It was a bit difficult to work with at first and I ended up drinking a lot of the thick stuff. These tips will really help: 1) As you can see in the picture, the bottom of the filter has small plastic tabs. When stored in a blast pot, they shrink a bit and don't fit the sides very well. I always carefully pry them out a little before use. This makes it a little harder to put back in the cup for use, but also filters a lot better! 2) Make sure you press DOWN RIGHT when using this. First I tried without the plastic/rubber lid that comes with the kettle. Use it exactly as shown in the picture, otherwise it will inevitably slide a little sideways and let the soil seep through the cracks. 3) Push slowly! Sometimes I would try to go too fast and the ground would clog the filter making it very difficult to get through. Fighting back doesn't help, I've found that the best way to do it is to raise the filter a little, wait a few seconds, and then slowly push it further down. It took me a lot of frustration and time to figure it out. came out, but now that I have it, it works great 99% of the time. Great product, I am very satisfied!
