More than just patterns!

If you make the mistake of judging this book by reference alone (or worse, by a cheeky photo), go back and check it out again! If I could only keep one of the many knitting books I have on the shelves, I would choose this one. It's not because I liked Wendy's blog and design even before she published this book. The name Knit to Order has a very clear reason: with the suggestions and detailed instructions in the book, the knitter can knit almost any piece of clothing she wants. I'm knitting a Tang-based V-neck cardigan with cables and set-in sleeves, presented in the book as a high-neck sweater. What Wendy has done here is what I've been hoping for from someone for years - take the somewhat confusing and wordy concepts suggested by Barbara Walker in Knitting from Above and turn them into clear, understandable instructions and diagrams. with specific patterns you can follow if you wish. For beginner knitters, the patterns offered here are simple and classic with a modern twist, but have the amazing benefit of being knitted in one piece! No more piecemeal knitting and tedious sewing only to find love's labor doesn't even fit! Seamless jerseys can be tried on on the go. For intermediate and advanced knitters, this book lets your imagination run wild! Seriously, sometimes I go to bed at night thinking about how I can change the pattern in the book to turn it into the clothes I have in mind. This makes this book unique and priceless. This is NOT just another pattern book for knitters to slavishly follow. This book gives you the power to knit anything your knitting brain dreams of!
