Annual update. This is an Arial G2 router. Perfect for a year! See Smart Connect installation and configuration tips. Setting up this router is really easy if you follow these instructions. Connect a wired computer to the Ethernet LAN port and then configure it. Don't connect to the internet first; First set up your router. As a wireless access point, this was a fantastic purchase. When I use the Smart Connect software switch (visible in the Wavlinks network setup software) and an Ethernet cable to connect the WAN port to my main router, I can see over 600Mbps WiFi speeds in the same room. Note that wired LAN ports are only 100 Mbps; WAN port only (to connect to main router or modem) 1GB. I had to set it up again after being disabled for several months. I have upgraded this rating from 4 to 5 stars (end of year update). I've been setting up routers since 1995 and set up my first wireless router a decade ago. It took me over two hours to set it up as a WiFi hotspot. I've had a million things to try and I think what worked was pulling the cable from this to my main router and then trying to login with the given IP address a couple of times. I can usually set up a router in 15 minutes. (Sentence below replaced with update and tips) If you value your time, you might consider something else. After tweaking this setup, it worked consistently for several weeks. No questions. Good signal even one floor down and 20 feet away on the horizontal axis. Fast enough that one person can hold a video conference while another uses their phone and streams Netflix. After the horror of hiring, great returns.

Pros

Cons
