Red - minus / black - plus - with me!
The mc4 cables seemed to be reversed. Thinking nobody can swap red/black to positive/negative I swapped the connectors (not tested, my mistake). red and black (negative and positive) are reversed! So now my new cable is spliced. Try it first, you never know what you're going to get! Other than that small big issue, it seems well made.
