Feels solid but I can't use it because the positive and negative terminals were reversed for my solar panel. I will update the review when I buy a solar panel that needs it.

Beware they have reverse polarity. I haven't read the reviews and would like to. I had to cut/splice in the field when I couldn't figure out why they weren't working. Now with connectors, they're not as weatherproof, but they work now.

I received this item with the positive and negative MC4 connectors on the wires reversed. As you may know, the positive and negative terminals are different and should never be connected together. This damaged my solar panel and I am very upset. It could also damage my battery and radio. Don't buy anything from these guys.

The mc4 cables seemed to be reversed. Thinking nobody can swap red/black to positive/negative I swapped the connectors (not tested, my mistake). red and black (negative and positive) are reversed! So now my new cable is spliced. Try it first, you never know what you're going to get! Other than that small big issue, it seems well made.

I've used this on a 100w panel for a little over two years but decided to replace it due to maintenance. The low cost combined with the fact that it was 16 AWG was an advantage as I couldn't find any 16 AWG wire on Amazon for a while. Over time, it just lost its ability to transmit, and the fact that it only costs $10 is better safe than sorry. Overall good value for money. I easily put 20 times the value in there.

Before you start cutting and splicing, make sure everything is working properly. Because while the positive and negative MC4 connections appear to be swapped, the Barrell connection also got the opposite ends mixed up. So it worked fine for me. Charge and no problem. Make sure it is, but thanks to another review I figured it out and was able to use it.

The red wire (positive) connects to the outside of the chassis connector and the black wire (negative) connects to the center of the chassis connector, which in most cases is the reverse of how it should be connected. I'm not aware of any application of this reverse polarity design, so to my knowledge it's a defective cable! Rather than going back I decided to cut and beef up the wires while maintaining correct polarity.
