Seems to work well with Toy Box Printer

We have a toy box printer that my kids have been using for years and they used to only buy filament to use in our printer. Their documentation says that another 1.75mm filament can be used, but they certainly can't guarantee how things will turn out. It was so great we thought it was worth a try. Unlike many other 3D printers, the Toy Box does not import and print a file. They use the app to select the model they want to print from a set of pre-made models Toybox has imported into their app. This makes printing extremely easy, even for my 7 year old who can do it on his own. He was thrilled when we received these 4 new colors and started printing like crazy. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether this is our printer or a filament, but we always had problems. At first the prints seemed to print correctly, but then they just start printing "air" as if the filament isn't going through the nozzle properly. We tried a few more times to make sure it was seated correctly, cleaned the nozzle, etc. and got similar results. On some other prints it printed fully, but when it was done the various layers of filament didn't seem to connect properly. As a result, they mostly broke up. When we printed smaller models like the gummy bear, everything seemed to work fine. If things were more than an inch, then we would be in trouble. Again, I don't know if this is related to a toy box 3D printer or has something to do with the filament. Anyway, it didn't work out for us compared to Toybox's official "printer fodder" as they call it.

Pros
  • 3D Printing Filament
Cons
  • . There are other interesting options.
