I bought this to replace a damaged 7 pin and add a 4 pin spade connector. Unlike the one I bought 5 years ago, this one has 4 pins on the side. I didn't use the included support bracket because I had another Curt that mounts to the hitch, but the installation was easy. Depending on your setup you may need a 4 pin adapter harness and cables to go from the battery and brake controller to the 7 pin. In this case, it makes sense to purchase a kit that includes these additional items.
