Illuminates nothing thicker than a pencil lead.
I bought it for emergencies and camping. Of course I want to be able to make a fire. I'm still a big kid, so I was trying to make things glow almost as soon as I got it. It will be light paper, thin cardboard, maybe a wick. Anything larger (a piece of wood twice the size of a pencil lead, an intact strip of cardboard) will burn, maybe even burn in the plasma jets, but won't actually ignite. It's practically useless for my purposes. A $1 bic would be more useful.
